The Flash

Well, ironically enough, it seems the folks working on CW’s ‘The Flash’ might have gotten a little ahead of themselves, releasing important information about the upcoming 4th season before the producers and/or network were ready for the world to know.

On the 4th of July, the production office released a tweet about the first day of filming that featured a picture with the title of the Season 4 premiere, ‘The Flash Reborn,’ which many are surmising hints at the Geoff Johns’ ‘Rebirth’ story arc from the comics. The title also hints that Barry Allen will be making his return from imprisonment in the Speed Force a lot sooner than expected.

Here’s what the Tweet stated, although it had since been taken down, which could mean they let the cat out of the bag a little too soon, and had to be censored:

“Ready for our first day of filming Season 4! We get started tomorrow, and it’s gonna be epic! pic.twitter.com/iWhbSjvCvI

Of course, ‘The Flash Reborn’ could also be talking about a new person being “reborn” as the Flash, aka meaning that Wally West will go from being “Kid Flash” into being The Flash proper, but since the censor happened so soon after rumors starting flying about the ‘Rebirth’ storyline, I’m guessing that is more likely the direction the show is taking, especially since they have proven in the last 3 seasons to enjoy borrowing a lot from the big ‘The Flash’ storylines from the comics.

What are your thoughts on the leaked information? Could Barry really be coming back into the show that quickly? What aspects of the ‘Rebirth’ storyline could they be tackling? Could they just be talking about Wally? Share your theories in the comments below!

And here’s the synopsis of the Season 4 premiere, which was released ahead of the show’s presence at Comic-Con:

Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell.
