The fifth season of ‘Arrow‘ just got more dangerous for our heroes as Stephen Amell (‘The Flash’,’Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’) has just confirmed the return of Deathstroke! Slade Wilson, the inspiration for Deadpool and the villain in the upcoming standalone Ben Affleck ‘Batman‘ film is a force to be reckoned with so his return on ‘Arrow’ means we’re about to have some serious problems going on. When he initially debuted in the second season he attacked Oliver Queen as Arrow, his city, the love of his life, and his family. When he finally defeated the villain he spared his life in the third season and has been on the run since that time.

Well, as you can see from Stephen Amell’s tweet, Queen’s peace of mind is about to come to an end:

Amell has been giving us a slew of teasers for the upcoming 100th episode of the smash hit that put DC on the map with television audiences and no villain has had a greater impact than Deathstroke so his return is going to be pretty epic. While there is no guarantee that this is part of the 100th episode, we do see Oliver wearing the same shirt from another shot that was in the 100th episode so it looks like this will mark the return of Slade.

That being said, there has been no confirmation that Manu Bennett is back to reprise his role so this might just be a hallucination as Wilson’s appearance in the fourth season was or perhaps a flashback or nightmare.

Another theory being floated around is that this could be taking place during the event which will bring ‘Supergirl’ into the world of ‘Flash’ and ‘Arrow’ which means there could be a Slade Wilson in her universe that Arrow has to tackle.

Are you looking forward to the return of Deathstroke? Do you feel that this will be the real deal or just an alternate or fake reoccurrence of the character? Share your thoughts below!
