Every year, hordes of people get excited for the Super Bowl. While many are looking to see an exciting game between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons, others will be watching just to see the plethora of big budget commercials created for the millions of eyes that are sure to be tuned in on Sunday night. On Thursday morning, Paramount Pictures released the Super Bowl promo for ‘Ghost In The Shell’ starring Scarlett Johansson. The first of many new film previews we’re likely to see during the game, this 30-second spot is sure to catch the average football fan’s attention since it starts off with the beautiful star disrobing and falling off of a building. From there, we get a ton of new footage featuring the Major in action. You can check out the ad below, followed by the official synopsis of the film:
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, ‘Ghost In The Shell’ follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
