With production of Andy Muschiette’s reboot of Stephen King’s ‘It‘ in full swing he’s been happy enough to share some new shots from the set, and, more importantly, we also have a new look at Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise. Honestly, this new reveal of the character which Tim Curry embodied to put the unholy fear of clowns into generations of kids has me excited about how the reboot will play out on the big screen. This is one of the few reboots that Hollywood has announced which I feel that I might be able to get behind.

First up we have a couple of storyboard shots from pre-production:

Next up is a slew of shots from the set from various props, scenery, and locations!

We still don’t have too much to go on from the above but what everyone is looking forward to here is probably more along the lines of Pennywise. Not only is the clown face present but a bit of his costume is in view here as well. Designer Janie Bryant says that:

“The costume definitely incorporates all these otherworldly past lives, if you will. He is definitely a clown from a different time.”

Here we go!

Bryant further explains that:

“There is almost a doll-like quality to the costume. The pants being short, the high waistline of the jacket, and the fit of the costume is a very important element. It gives the character a child-like quality.”

I think a hint of child-like innocence before going head forward into the psychotic demon that Pennywise is will give us the perfect mixture of look and feeling to really enjoy what they’ve put together.
