Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) popped up at the end of ‘The Flash’ Season 2 premier episode. As comic book fans know, Garrick is the older Flash from Earth 2 and plays a mentor role to the fledgling Flash of Earth 1, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).
To promote the second episode, entitled ‘Introducing Jay Garrick’, in which he has a larger role, Sears appeared on Los Angeles’ KTLA channel 5 news on which he spilled a few tasty details about his character as well as this season’s Big Bad Zoom. He also brought along a clip from the episode.
You can watch the interview and episode clip below:
As you may have picked up, Sears explains that though his character is a speedster on his home planet, through the course of traveling between the two Earths, via the singularity Barry whipped up in the Season 1 finale, he loses his powers, which are stolen by Zoom. The recovery of those powers will surely play a role as Season 2 unfolds.
Here is the episode’s full synopsis:
INTRODUCING JAY GARRICK – Jay Garrick (guest star Teddy Sears), a mysterious man from Earth-2, appears at S.T.A.R. Labs with a dire warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash. Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team must decide if they can trust this stranger even as they face yet another powerful meta-human. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must deal with a determined officer named Patty Spivot (guest star Shantal VanSanten) who wants to join his meta-human task force. Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing.
Are you excited to see Jay Garrick join Team Flash? Does this open the door for more visitors from Earth 2?
