Jennifer Lawrence is set to soar in the penultimate film installment of ‘The Hunger Games’ saga, ‘Mockingjay Part 1’ which hits theaters in just a couple weeks on November 20th.
If you haven’t seen ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ yet, you may want to before reading on. You will definitely want to before seeing ‘Mockingjay Part I.’
‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ ended in a cliffhanger with the realization that Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) and Games Master Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) have secretly been part of a rebellion scheming of a way to fight back against the tyrannical Capitol. Katniss, through her actions in the two prior games, has become a rallying point for the downtrodden districts, whether she likes it or not and the two men plan to use her to further spur the districts to rise against their oppressors.
Unfortunately, Katniss is only one of a few tributes to escape the Quarter Quell. Only Finnick and Beetee are free. Among those captured are Johanna and Katniss’ maybe/maybe not true love Peeta (Josh Hutcherson).
Katniss is not even clear on what Peeta’s fate is at one point, but in this new clip from ‘Mockingjay Part 1,’ she learns that he is alive, but isn’t the same innocent baker’s son he once was. Watch for yourself below:
Peeta has been captured by the Capitol and been brainwashed into becoming their puppet. If you’ve read the book, you know it gets even worse.
But Katniss isn’t alone in her struggle. Natalie Dormer joins the cast as Cressida and introduces Katniss to a group of fellow freedom fighters, seeking to overthrow their oppressive government. Watch their meeting in this clip below:
‘Mockingjay’ may be the bleakest of the three ‘Hunger Games’ stories. Are you ready for a revolution?
