The cast for ‘Ant-Man‘ just sat down and gave out a slew of extra details about the film as well as Pym’s wife, Janet! While Marvel shared a poster and a ton of exclusive details at SDCC 2014 there are even more fun tidbits that can be found in this really quick interview!

So according to Michael Douglas, he tells us not only who his character is but a little about the Pym Particles, what happened to his family, and why is looking for a new Ant-Man,

“My name is Dr. Henry Pym. I’m an entomologist. I’m also a physicist and I discovered in 1963, a way, a serum to reduce a human being to the size of ant maintaining the strength. Not only that, but I was able to find a way to communicate with the ants. But unfortunately during this process, a tragic personal accident happened with my wife, my daughter, Evangeline, Hope. So I’ve had to pass my powers and strengths onto a mentor. Because my partner, my partner, Corey over there, f–ked me good.”

Sounds like bad things happened when it comes to Janet.

Rudd talks a little about his character being a thief and why that isn’t always a bad thing. Think Robin Hood as he explains:

“It’s a great question. One that’s been hotly debated for a while. There are levels. There are some pretty bad thieves and there’s some really good thieves, let’s be honest. There’s people who do it for the right reasons.” Douglas chips in that he is looking for help from Rudd’s character because “Darren Cross, my partner, my mentor, my nemesis, has taken my company and taken it in a different direction.”

Director Peyton Reed also threw out a few details about taking over the film. When bringing up Edgar Wright did reveal that Edgar and he did correspond via emails and that they were “very good emails.” So it sounds as if things were still progressing a little with Wright’s input. On top of that,  “everybody from the cast and the crew are like A-plus-plus,” says Reed. “And the stuff that we’re doing in terms of the visuals of the movie is going to be unlike any other Marvel movie. I mean, it’s different than the other superhero movies because it takes place in the real world but we experience it from a radically different perspective. In terms of the shrinking stuff, you’re going to see stuff that just has never been done in a movie.”

While I’ve just covered the highlights above, there is also a lot of humor thrown in and you can tell the actors are really getting along with one another. You can watch the interview below:

Michael Douglas really seems to be getting into character here.
