With ‘Thor: The Dark World’ less than two months away (November 8th to be specific) it’s no surprise that the hype machine is starting to kick in full time. While we’ve already seen multiple trailers for the film, if you are like us you just can’t get enough, and this time we have 2 new character posters as well as a new trailer for you to enjoy!

So let’s just jump right in with the two new character themed posters first, shall we?

First up we have Idris Elba (‘Pacific Rim‘) reprising his roll as Heimdall, the sentinel of Asgard and one of the realm’s chief protectors. In the shot he’s standing there looking rather stoic and concentrating so that he’s on the lookout for dangers that could threaten Asgard. Just like the first film I suspect he is not going to see the danger coming in time. (Some all seeing lookout if you ask me!)

The second poster is Christopher Eccleston (‘Doctor Who’) portraying the main villain of the film – Malekith the Accursed with his giant world destroying ship and a squad of Dark Elves right behind him. Malekith is the self appointed leader of the Dark Elves and has been long thought dead after a vicious battle against Asgard who is now returning to once again turn the universe to turmoil.

And here’s a look at the latest trailer which had its first premiere during ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘:

As Loki won’t be making an appearance in ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ (unless of course it’s hidden in the end credits), I’m so glad they are giving him extra screen time in ‘Thor: The Dark World’.

It’s fun to see that Jane Foster is still quite angry with him and shows him exactly how she feels. Clearly a fan favorite,  I’m sure we’re all eagerly awaiting when he will pop up again.

We also see a bit of interaction between Thor and Jane as well, though, that part of the clip isn’t something that’s fully new.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Zachary Levi, and Anthony Hopkins is scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2013.
