I can’t think of any other situation where it would be okay for an ant to hit a web. After waiting for about 8 months, the world can finally lay eyes on the test reel from Edgar Wright’s ‘Ant-Man’ that played before a packed Hall H at last year’s San Diego Comic Con. Up until this point, we only got descriptions and fan interpretations of the footage, but now we can see what the ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World’ director had been working on to prepare for his Phase Three film.

The clip was shown at a recent Best of BUG event in London where someone in attendance decided that it would be a good idea to capture it on video. Thank goodness for that! Now, without further ado, here’s Edgar Wright’s test footage for ‘Ant-Man’:

****UPDATED**** As you can see, they were quick to remove any clips that hit the web of this trailer. When an official trailer drops, ScienceFiction.com will sure to have it here for you.

While packed with some pretty awesome action, the reel doesn’t really make it clear which Ant-Man (Hank Pym, Scott Lang, or Eric O’Grady) we’re seeing here. If I were to make an educated guess though, I’d say that it was Lang in the clip. The design of the helmet appears to be closer to the one that Scott uses because it conceals more of the face than Hank’s does. Either way, it’s been said previously said that both Lang and Pym play parts in Wright’s film. At least, that was the plan at one point. Who knows how much the script has changed since they started working on it all those years ago.
