When I first heard about ‘The Legend of Conan’, I thought that Jason Mamoa, the man more commonly known as Khal Drogo from ‘Game of Thrones’, was coming back for a sequel after last year’s ‘Conan The Barbarian’. Apparently someone is stepping back into the iconic warrior’s shoes, but it’s not Mamoa. It’s the former Governator and originator.

While doing an interview to promote his first leading role since exiting politics in ‘The Last Stand’, Arnold Schwarzenegger gave an update on the plans for this new Conan story in which he’s set to star in for Universal Studios. He shares with MTV that he hopes to create an A-list action movie like ‘300’ rather than a campy B-list flick and that he’s aiming for a more “sophisticated” action film this time around. Here’s the quote from the interview:

“The audience and the fans are very sophisticated. They’ve seen all the ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Superman’ and ‘Iron Man’ [movies] and the ‘Expendables’ as regular action movies. They’ve seen it all. So when they see a ‘Conan’ movie coming, they demand a spectacle. That’s what we tried to do with ‘Last Stand’ — to give them the car chases, cars going 200 mph, racing through cornfields, crazy stuff you haven’t seen before. You have to give them great entertainment.”

For the whole interview, where he also mentions the potential success of his other movies in the works such as another ‘Terminator’ film and ‘Triplets’, the sequel to ‘Twins’, check out the video below:
