While a lot of attention has been paid to the upcoming ‘Elseworlds’ crossover event, keep in mind, The CW’s superhero shows have entire seasons that take place outside of that one-off storyline.  In fact, ‘The Flash’ is celebrating another major milestone– its 100th episode!  This episode will be directed by series costar Tom Cavanagh and in honor of this important installment, the show’s creators are bringing back some well-known faces… and voices, and not the type that Barry (Grant Gustin) might like.

Tony Todd has announced that he will be part of this high speed race down memory lane.  The actor best-known for playing horror icon Candyman attended MCM London Comic Con, where he reportedly spilled that he — or rather his voice — would be back for the 100th episode.  Todd provided the deep, monstrous voice of the Big Bad Zoom in the show’s second season.  Not only did Todd announce his return, but that other speedsters would also be back, and that they were all “wanting a piece of Barry.”  This news was announced via the UK-based DC World Twitter account:

Many fans were happy that last season’s Big Bad, Clifford DeVoe (Neil Sandilands), based on the comic book character, The Thinker, was the first major recurring villain on the show that wasn’t also a speedster.  The same holds true of this year’s rogue, Cicada (Chris Klein).  But with episode 100 being a milestone, it’s a great time to look back at the elements that brought the series to its current place.

Previously, showrunner Todd Helbing, cautioned, “All I can you tell is… it’s a little bit different.”  Meanwhile, Candice Patton, who plays Iris, stated:

“For fans, it’s special in the sense that it kind of really revisits what makes our show special. There’s a lot of good stuff.”

Klein will be present for the events of this episode, and exclaimed:

“It’s a really exciting one, a really fun, fun episode.  They definitely built in some bells and whistles for it!”

The 100th episode will air on December 4th.
