With less than 2 weeks to go before the first full episode of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, the BBC has released a trailer for the first episode of the new season and all of us here at ScienceFiction.com are giddy with anticipation!
The trailer was originally publicized on the BBC One’s Twitter account urging followers to “share this secret trailer” before it officially aired on the network. From the looks of the footage, fans will have a lot to look forward to! After all, it has a dinosaur rampaging through Victorian London!
And of course, the Doctor can’t visit Victorian London without dropping by some old friends who will be helping the Time Lord through the early hours of his regeneration. Yes, it the Paternoster Gang, however in the trailer we only see Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh) and Jenny Flint (Catrin Stewart). And, as a nod to those before them, Clara comments on the Twelfth Doctor’s decorating taste when she sees the TARDIS’ new interior with a line last heard in ‘The Day of the Doctor.’
Get ready to be excited as you watch the trailer followed by the official synopsis of the episode below:
“When the Doctor arrives in Victorian London, he finds a dinosaur rampant in the Thames and a spate of deadly spontaneous combustions. Who is the new Doctor and will Clara’s friendship survive as they embark on a terrifying mission into the heart of an alien conspiracy? The Doctor has changed. It’s time you knew him.”
If that hasn’t given you chills, then the knowledge that this episode will be a full 75 minutes long should!
