We haven’t had a chance to see the first episode of ‘Ash vs Evil Dead‘ yet which premieres this Saturday but Starz is so confident in the series that they’ve already ordered a second season! That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, Bruce Campbell will be coming back as Ash for at least one more run and if the early reviews are accurate I suspect we’ll see at least a third in its future as well!
The first 10-episodes are widely being looked forward to by the horror community and the hype clearly has Starz expecting a high level of viewership.
According to Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik:
“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two-decade-long appetite for more Ash. The early fan and press support, along with the international broadcaster demand for more story, have made it clear that the adventures of Ash Williams can’t end with Season 1.”
I couldn’t agree with you more! This is a series I am eagerly looking forward to seeing more of and the second season is most likely going to air in 2016. It wouldn’t surprise me if they made the Halloween release date a new tradition.
No word on an episode count or who will be returning but aside from Campbell it’s being said that Lucy Lawless will also be reprising her role as Ruby on the show. One bonus for fans of the franchise is that Sam Raimi has previously stated that if the series was picked up for a second season that he would back in the director’s chair for another.
I can’t wait!

Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario, and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) in the role of Ash Williams, Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus,” “Xena”) as Ruby, a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick, Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past, and Jill Marie Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”) as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner.
