While the first trailer won’t be out for another 2 weeks, Paramount has decided to continue to tease fans by releasing this new teaser poster for the film ‘Star Trek into Darkness.’

The poster was tweeted by the studio and shows the back of Benedict Cumberbatch (who plays the villain in the film)standing over the ruins of what is assumed to be his destruction overlooking the debris. The devastation frames him in the shape of the iconic ‘Star Trek’ emblem.

The image is being described as gritty but has also been compared to the posters of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ especially the ones with Batman overlooking Bane’s complete destruction of Gotham City.

While the teaser poster is not very “Star Trekkish,” fans will still be excited especially knowing this is only the beginning and that more material will be released about the film before it premieres in theaters in 6 months.

Check out the poster below and let us know what you think!
