Rise Of Skywalker

Maybe it is just old age, but I’m pretty sure by this close to a Star Wars premiere date, we’d usually have a few trailers. We’re only a couple of months away from the final chapter of the Skywalker story, and we’ve not seen a full-fledged trailer. Though the previous half-teaser, half-nostalgia trailer did show quite a bit of spoiler footage, it did not give audiences much to go on as far as narrative goes. That may be remedied soon, and by “soon” I mean real soon! The source for this leak comes from an unlikely source, too.

Cinemablend caught something interesting via social media. Femi Oguns, John Boyega’s agent, posted the next trailer’s release date in a not-so-subtle way. Through his Instagram account, Mr. Oguns announced that the trailer would drop on Monday, October 14th, on ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast. Wait … football?

[Star Wars] trailer out Monday. It’s official.

Yep, the Disney-owned sports broadcasting network will be the place to see the newest commercial for the upcoming sequel. The announcement looks official judging by the graphic shown on the post. Poe, Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, and a Knight of Ren are present, but other than that, it is unclear if this will be a full trailer or another teaser. Disney has made it clear that they’re going to promote ‘Star Wars’ in a hardcore way on every platform that the Mouse owns. How many Star Wars fans watch Monday Night Football, though?

Star Wars: The Riser Of Skywalker will be in theatres on December 20th. After 42 years, the story of the Skywalker family will be coming to an end. The epic space opera will reunite heroes and villains old and new in a galaxy far, far away.
