There’s still a lot we don’t know about ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ so when a juicy bit of information comes by, our ears (and eyes) perk up. This is just the case with India Wadsworth and her role in Christopher Nolan’s final installment of the Dark Knight trilogy.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!

IGN recently received some publicity material for model/actress India Wadsworth. In it, she is listed as playing ‘The Warlord’s Daughter’ in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ but according to her agency resume, she is playing the role of ‘Mother.’ (And if you’re wondering, IMDB doesn’t even have her listed in the cast credits.)

So what does it all mean? Speculation has gone from Wadsworth playing Ra’s al Ghul’s mother, Talia’s mother, Talia herself, and even Bane’s mother! (Yes, I agree, the last is reaching a bit.)

What we do know is that Talia does appear in the film as a young child as confirmed by Joey King who played the role. We also know that Josh Pence is in the film as a young version of Liam Neeson’s al Ghul. So could we actually be looking at Ra’s great love who died when Talia was a young child?

In the comics, Talia’s mother, Melisande, was murdered by former servant, Qayin. In a later issue, Melisande cause of death was changed and she dies of a drug overdose. Regardless, it left Ra’s with young daughter Talia to raise and teach her the art of combat.

How all this fits in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is unknown except fans were excited when Neesom finally confirmed he would be in the film reprising his villainous role. It now looks like his role may be more than just an appearance as originally thought.

So what are your ideas about who Wadsworth is playing?

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ hits theaters on July 20th and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake, and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.
