Watch Star Wars: Resistance Season Two Premiere Here

When you’re a cord-cutter like me, you always keep your eyes open for free episodes of new shows. A series premiere is a real make-or-break for those of us who exiled ourselves from the temple of cable television. It would appear that Disney knew how to try to bait me into watching something I never gave a second thought to: Star Wars: Resistance.

Thanks to /Flim, we learned that the first episode of Resistance’s second season is available to view right now. Episode 1: “Into the Unknown” is available in its entirety on YouTube. To catch the rest of this final season, check it out on Disney XD at 6PM Eastern and Pacific time. The show also runs at a later timeslot on the Disney Channel, 10PM ET/PT.

Given that a third season will not happen, maybe Resistance will tackle more grownup storylines. That may be wishful thinking from a longtime Star Wars fan, but the synopsis for this episode is a bit compelling:

Following their battle with the First Order, Kaz and his friends hope to reach the Resistance base on D’Qar. But the Colossus has suffered damage, and there may be other threats lurking in the shadows…

Star Wars: Resistance follows the newest group of rebels as they struggle against the First Order. The series takes place parallel to the events in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The cartoon first premiered in late 2018 but failed to garner the follow previous Star Wars shows had. The lack of praise may have something to do with Dave Filoni not being directly involved with the show. Unlike Clone Wars and Rebels, Resistance featured a cell-shaded art style and geared towards a younger audience. The series also had a small toyline, but it disappeared quickly from store shelves.
