Michael Gross Confirms Tremors 7 Begins Filming Next Month

Fans of the “Tremors” franchise have reason to celebrate because in November of 2019 the filming of ‘Tremors 7’ is slated to begin. Michael Gross has confirmed that he will reprise the role of Burt Gummer in another sequel as production will officially kick off in Thailand! Gross confirmed last December that he had signed the contract to star in another outing in the franchise and shared in January that “Burt Gummer and Tremors fans will want to know I read the first draft of Tremors 7 this weekend, and it is not s**t!”

It sounds like they’ve finalized the script as the most recent update that Gross has shared is:

Thirty years ago, I was on location for the original Tremors film and, in a month’s time, will be in Thailand to begin filming Tremors 7. Three decades, and I am grateful to the many Official Tremors Franchise Fans for the fun ride.

While not confirmed as the final title it has been reported that the seventh installment will be called ‘Tremors: Island Fury’ and the logline describes it as:

The deadly Graboids are back, illegally brought in to a new island resort by a rich playboy looking for a trophy hunt.

We’ll have to wait for confirmation on the name and plot from writer Brian Brightly but do know that Don Michael Paul will be returning to direct the upcoming release.

With the Kevin Bacon starring television show having been shut down I have a feeling that many of us still secretly hope he could return to the cinematic side of the franchise, but it also feels that his star power would be wasted in what has transformed into quite the B-Movie spectacle over the years.
