Birds Of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn)
Warner Brothers

The first teaser trailer for Warner Brothers’ ‘Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)’ surfaced on the internet this past weekend, with the only problem being that it wasn’t in English.  (It appears to have originated in the Ukraine.)  But now the same clip has emerged in English and in high definition.  Appropriately, considering the star– Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn– the clip takes a jab at the biggest movie opening this weekend, ‘It: Chapter Two’.

If you thought the red balloons shown at the beginning of the trailer were a bit too reminiscent of ‘It’, well that’s on purpose.  We can now understand Harley’s single line of dialogue, uttered after she takes a mallet to the balloons:

“I’m so f***in’ over clowns.”

Not only is that a jab at ‘It’, which is also from Warner Brothers, but it plays into the full title of the movie, ‘The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn’, as it has been reported that the movie focuses on Harley after she has broken up with her “Puddin’, Mistah J”, a.k.a. The Joker.  And since both ‘Birds of Prey’ and ‘It’ are WB movies, this clip with likely play before screenings of ‘It: Chapter Two’ this weekend.

The teaser trailer also offers glimpses at The Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) in action, as well as Ewan McGregor, who plays crime boss Roman Sionis, a.k.a. Black Mask.  Beyond that, the only other tidbit that can be gleaned from the video is that part of it takes place in a carnival of some sort.
