Eagle-eyed watchers have spotted a surprise cameo in the trailer for ‘Titans’ Season 2. The clip moves at a rapid pace and it’s hard to catch all of the character appearances. And it’s even harder to catch a cameo when you don’t know to look for it. We knew to keep our eyes peeled for Conor Leslie’s Donna Troy suited up in her red Wonder Girl, Iain Glenn as Bruce Wayne, Chella Man as Joseph Wilson/Jericho, Joshua Orpin as Superboy, Drew Van Acker as Aqualad, and Chelsea T. Zhang as Rose Wilson/Ravager, as well as the clip’s big reveal, Esai Morales as Deathstroke the Terminator.
But it appears that at about 11 seconds into the trailer, there is a quick glimpse of Wonder Girl and Starfire (Anna Diop) fighting someone who is floating in mid-air.
It’s blurry but looks as though this figure is wearing a blue miniskirt, a cape or long coat, and has red hair. Who else could it be than Miss Martian?
Sharon Leal portrayed Miss Martian, also known as M’gann M’orzz, on ‘Supergirl’. The character, created by Geoff Johns and Tony Daniel, was part of the millennium-era Teen Titans, along with the Conner Kent version of Superboy. While ‘Titans’ has drawn mainly from the ’80s iteration of the comic book ‘Teen Titans’, the second season introduces Orpin as the modern Superboy. Now with Miss Martian– if that IS her– that brings the series closer in-line with more recent publications, as well as with the ‘Young Justice’ animated series, on which both Miss Martian and Superboy are main characters. (Not to mention Beast Boy, and Dick Grayson.)
Both ‘Titans’ and ‘Young Justice’ are on DC Universe. They’re unrelated, but this makes them a bit more similar to one another.
The second half of ‘Young Justice’ is currently rolling out on DC Universe, while ‘Titans’ Season 2 will arrive on September 6.
