Guillermo Del Toro Will Have 'Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark' To Tell At SDCC

Later this year, the Oscar-winning Guillermo del Toro is releasing ‘Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark‘ but first he’ll be bringing it to San Diego Comic-Con!

The pair will be giving “fans an exclusive window into how they translated the iconic and scary imagery from Stephen Gammell’s book series illustrations to their upcoming film.” The panel is slated for July 20th, 2019 though location details weren’t yet available.

There was also no word as to if any of the film’s stars such as Dean Norris, Zoe Margaret Colletti, or Michael Garza would also be in attendance. As it seems the panel will focus on the behind-the-scenes creative process of building these works into a live-action world, it seems unlikely that the actors will be appearing.

Are you looking forward to checking out ‘Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark’ when it is released later this year? If you are attending the convention or were able to would you want to sit on a panel hosted by Guillermo del Toro and André Øvredal on how they brought these classic tales to life? It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home.

From the dark imaginations of Academy Award®-winner Guillermo del Toro and acclaimed director André Øvredal, based on the iconic book series, comes Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark — in theaters on August 9th, 2019!
