With the release date of ‘Jupiter Ascending‘ having been pushed back it doesn’t mean that the international trailers for the film have slowed down on being released. When the Wachowskis’ next big screen foray into science fiction was push back to a February release, many are a little worried that it was being setup to fail or that the studio had lowered their expectations as February has historically been a slow month for sales. That being said, the Wachowskis’ have far more hits than misses on their hands so it could just be a ploy to make a killing on what would normally be a slow movie season.

This latest trailer actually gives probably the most overall and streamlined take on the plot of ‘Jupiter Ascending’ so far. At the very least, it gives us an idea about the plot which some of the earlier trailers were really lacking in. What we see is that Mila Kunis’ character, Jupiter Jones, is being setup to be the savior of the planet and has two human/animal hybrids to help out in the form of Sean Bean as Stinger, a man who was modified with Bee DNA and Channing Tatum as Caine, a half-albing and part wolf man mix up.

Check out the latest international trailer below followed by the film’s synopsis:

Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning toilets and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along – her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

This looks as if ‘Jupiter Ascending’ could be the hit that the Wachowskis’ haven’t been able to properly pull off since ‘The Matrix’ trilogy and with a $150 million budget for its advanced CGI effect,s they’d better hope that they can. With Kunis not getting much in the way of lead roles for genre films, this is one that I’d love to actually see pull off. Though the question is, will they be able to?

What do you think of the latest trailer for ‘Jupiter Ascending’? Do you feel that we’re finally getting a better feel for the plot and does it look like a movie that you’ll want to be checking out or should the Wachowskis’ have quit after completing ‘The Matrix’ trilogy?
