The idea of a sequel to the 2017 release of ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle‘ seems almost cringe-worthy and yet here we are with ‘Jumanji: The Next Level.’ Not only is the film coming out just before Christmas of 2019 but the trailer is actually entertaining. Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan will all be reprising their roles with Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, and Danny Glover all joining in on the fun. Nick Jonas, Ser’Darius Blain, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner will also all be back as well. Director Jake Kasdan is also returning and helped write the script with Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner.
I was quite hesitant about what this was going to be like.

Here is how Sony Pictures Entertainment is describing the film:
In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back, but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.
Even with the description showing that things have changed, you really don’t get how that happens from the synopsis alone. You can check out the first trailer for ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ below:
So let me get this straight, we’re going to see The Rock having to act like Danny DeVito and Kevin Hart playing Danny Glover? Sign me up for actually wanting to check this out now. The premise is different enough to be original while the first trailer, I’m ashamed to admit, does look entertaining.
