While making the promotional rounds for ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home‘, director Jon Watts was asked if there were any Easter Eggs missing in his first film of the franchise. We all know that while movies set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are notorious for Easter Eggs, director James Gunn really put them front and center in his two ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ films. Even so, it feels like all of the hidden treasures from other Marvel films must surely have been found by now right?
Well, we were all wrong. Not only does the 2017 release of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming‘ have an Easter Egg which no one has stumbled upon yet, but it directly ties into the cosmic side of things which Gunn introduced into his films. Somewhere in the movie lurks a reference to Howard the Duck.
According to Watts:
“It’s like almost so obscure that I don’t even know if anyone could ever find it, but there’s a Howard the Duck reference. It’s a very small, small Easter egg hidden in tall grass.”
While it seems shocking that one would still exist two years later, you can’t help but enjoy the fact that the one we’ve missed ties directly into the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise which still has an undiscovered secret.
Are you going to be re-watching ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ to attempt and find the Howard the Duck Easter Egg? Do you feel that it is fitting that the only one no one has seen yet is related to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’? Share your thoughts in the comments below, True Believers!
