There's No Way You Spotted THIS 'Avengers: Endgame' Cameo!

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t yet seen ‘Avengers: Endgame’ this contains some information that may be considered SPOILERS so you may want to turn back now, or proceed with caution.

Don’t ask me HOW anyone spotted this cameo in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, but there is photographic evidence!  (Obtained HOW, exactly?)

I don’t know about you, but during the big climactic battle sequence, I was in tears, just completely taken aback as the dusted heroes of the MCU returned at the end of ‘Endgame’.  It was shot so majestically, with such a sense of gravitas.  Alongside them were heroes that had survived, including Okoye, Wong, and Valkyrie (riding on her Pegasus Aragorn!).  But seeing Black Panther, Shuri, The Falcon, Bucky, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, The Wasp, and most of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the flesh was truly overwhelming.  And Pepper showed up in her Rescue armor!!!

But there was someone else from a past Marvel movie also present for the big throw-down.  And it’s not even a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot… it’s a “you’d have to freeze-framed it and scrutinized the shot to see him” thing.

Here it is:

Do you see him?

There's No Way You Spotted THIS Avengers: Endgame Cameo!

It’s Howard the Duck!!!

I have NO idea how anyone spotted him!  But there he is!

He set down his cocktail and picked up a laser rifle, it seems.  Howard, of course, has the distinction of being the first ever Marvel character to star in his own movie, back in 1986, in a box office catastrophe produced by George Lucas.  In the MCU, he debuted in the post-credits scene of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’.  Many hoped that meant that he would return in a larger role in another MCU flick, and there have been rumblings.  Lea Thompson, who starred as Howard’s human girlfriend Beverly in the first movie, has even met with Marvel with ideas for a new film.  But so far, this ‘Where’s Waldo’-esque cameo is his only subsequent appearance… so far!

Howard’s cameo comes during Wasp’s return shot, so most eyes were on her.

There has been no word of Howard returning in a larger role in the films, but he will be getting his own adult animated series from Kevin Smith on Hulu sometime soon.  Smith has divulged that he has spoken to Thomspon about lending her voice.

Normally, I wrap these things up with a question, like “Did YOU spot Howard the Duck during the finale of ‘Endgame’?”  But if you say you did, I totally wouldn’t believe you.  But now we all know!
