With the new episodes of Charlie Brooker‘s ‘Black Mirror‘ being unleashed upon Netflix, it feels like a good time to look at the last outing of the show in the choose-your-own-adventure movie ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.’ It was a fantastic experience that you could easily get lost in for hours playing through the various scenarios to complete the film’s story. However, no matter how long you play, there is at least one entire story path in ‘Black Mirror: Bandersnatch’ that is impossible to get to.
While we’ve all seen that films have deleted scenes which didn’t make the final cut, this wasn’t exactly the case here. Not only was it shot, but the hidden path was available until the production team made a small change to the middle of the story.
According to Brooker:
“There’s even a chunk in there that you can’t get to because we changed something, so there is a little section in the middle that will never be seen. So I was saying we should have dubbed The Beatles onto it because then we would have had a great piece of music that we didn’t have to pay for and it would be the ultimate Easter egg.”
With multiple endings, it is easy for plans to play through the movie more than once but it might be disheartening to some that they’ll never be able to watch the whole thing. Who knows, maybe Netflix will put out a home release that will have this scene included in the special features! However, if they do add it down the line, it would probably be hidden on the disc as well and not a straight forward menu item.
