With HBO having wrapped on HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones‘ there are even higher expectations with how “A Song of Ice and Fire‘ will wrap up as unsatisfied fans want deeper answers to the story. Unfortunately for everyone following the novels, author George R.R. Martin has found yet another pursuit to keep him distracted as he has just become Chief World Builder for Meow Wolf. This “Santa Fe-based arts and entertainment collective” is responsible for the House of Eternal Return as well as other immersive experiences and interactive exhibitions.

Martin’s new job has him using his “unparalleled storytelling skills to the multiverse” in the Meow Wolf universe and will work with members of the collective to “advise on building narrative and mind-bending ideas” so that they can bring audiences even greater “ambitious immersive installations.”

I’m sure Martin’s fans are thrilled that the author has found something new to be passionate about which he’ll enjoy and won’t mind any delays to getting to The End of the “A Song Of Ice And Fire” books.

CEO of Meow Wolf shares:

“Meow Wolf wouldn’t be what it is today without George’s generous support. He took a chance on us and gave our artists the platform they needed to create the House of Eternal Return. It’s an honor to have him as part of our team, and we can’t wait to see what he can help us accomplish as Chief World Builder.”

Now, Martin was previously involved in the work, so this isn’t a new creative pursuit for the author. It just seems to have him taking a more substantial part than he used to.

Martin chimed in that:

“From the very beginning, the Meow Wolf team captured my curiosity. When Vince first approached me with the idea to buy and renovate a bowling alley, I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, they really sparked my interest, and their vision pushed all my buttons — a sci-fi world spanning multiple universes — they delivered something we’ve never seen before. I look forward to continuing to grow the Meow Wolf storyworld for years to come.”

Are you thrilled that George R.R. Martin can be more intimately involved with one of the projects he has been working on or annoyed that it could cut into his writing time? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
