If you thought that Tim Miller’s work on directing ‘Deadpool’ was spot on than you might be interested to know that he will be tackling the iconic cyberpunk novel ‘Neuromancer‘ for Fox.

This 1984 released William Gibson masterpiece will also see Simon Kinberg producing who likely had worked with Miller when it came to bringing us the Merc with the Mouth. The last time we had heard news of a cinematic adaptation was back in 2012 when both Mark Wahlberg and Liam Neeson had been offered roles before that iteration ended up falling apart.

‘Neuromancer’ is the first installment of Gibson’s “Sprawl” trilogy and one of the most well-known cyberpunk novels of all time. In it, we follow Henry Dorsett Case who is a computer hacker living in Japan and fell out of favor when he was caught stealing from his previous employer. His punishment? Banishment from The Matrix, the virtual reality network which runs everything in the world. However, when at the end of his rope, he’s given a chance to get back in when he is tasked with the ultimate crime. He has to hack into an artificial intelligence that orbits the Earth.

This is a novel which many have tried to adapt over the years which hasn’t been able to see the light of days. The book not only has a cult following but has won Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick awards. If the book itself wasn’t enough to catch a studio’s interest, it is the first part of a trilogy which every studio loves to have at their disposal if they can produce a hit film.

No writer or actors are attached to the project at this time.
