Dark Phoenix

As the writer and director of ‘Dark Phoenix,’ there is a lot riding on Simon Kinberg as he brings the “X-Men” saga to a close. Outside of the Merc with the Mouth who we’ve already been told will live on, this film and ‘New Mutants’ are the final movies featuring mutants that have been developed by 20th Century Fox with ‘Dark Phoenix’ being dubbed as the final chapter of the “X-Men” saga. The latest clip puts Magneto and Xavier at odds with one another once again as the two meet with their bands of mutants for a brief standoff in New York.

You can watch the clip from ‘Dark Phoenix’ below!

With the movie not being able to lead into a future film, not having the original cast present, and not having a Stan Lee cameo, there are already rumblings that this won’t have the largest opening of the “X-Men” films. However, as the fourth most anticipated summer movie according to Fandango, I suspect that we’ll likely see a high turnout.

This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.

‘Dark Phoenix’ will rise in your local theaters on June 7th, 2019!
