Progress has been made for ‘Stan Lee’s Alliances: A Trick of Light‘ which has just cast Yara Shahidi in the leading role of Nia!
In the story, we will quickly find that Nia’s “fate is intertwined with a seemingly ordinary Midwestern teenager, Cameron Ackerson.” While trying to become a YouTube star, Ackerson ends up empowered with the ability to both “see” and “hear” a new reality. As the two leading characters grow closer to one another they decide that they should be in charge of creating “a more righteous online universe, dishing out justice big and small” though quickly come under the influence of a shadowy organization who wants to use this power for their own ends.
Oh, and we also discover details about the emergence of a galactic-sized threat to humanity which they’ll have to contend with as well.
The story is an Audible exclusive tale which is not only a brand-new universe but one of Stan Lee’s last collaborations. Kat Rosenfield co-wrote the tale with Lee while Luke Lieberman and Ryan Silbert co-created the concept with the icon. The story invites listeners to “unleash the power of their imaginations, and introduces new superheroes set within a tech-centric, highly-connected world, unnervingly reminiscent of our own.”
According to Shahidi:
