Check Out New Photos And The Poster For The Mandalorian

The original ‘Star Wars’ live-action series, ‘The Mandalorian’ is one of the major draws that Disney hopes will draw subscribers to its new Disney+ streaming service.  The project is overseen by writer, executive producer, and showrunner Jon Favreau, who has directed the live-action movie adaptations of ‘The Jungle Book’ and ‘The Lion King’, as well as ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Iron Man 2’.  Dave Filoni also acts as a director and executive producer, while Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy is also on board as executive producer.  Pedro Pascal stars as the titular character, along with Gina Carano and Carl Weathers.  All three of them can be seen in the first batch of official publicity photos from ‘The Mandalorian’.

Pascal described his character by saying:

“The Mandalorian is a mysterious, lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.  Some might say he has questionable moral character, in line with some of our best Westerns, and some good samurai [films.] And he’s a badass.”

Check out Pascal in the two photos below.  Obviously, he’s unrecognizable under that helmet.

Carano’s character is named Cara Dune, and Carano explains that she is an “ex-Rebel shock trooper,” who is “having some trouble reintegrating myself into society.”

The man with a plan, Greef Karga, is portrayed by screen legend Carl Weathers.  As he stated:

“He is a guy who is running this group of bounty hunters, he’s kind of the head of this guild of bounty hunters… He’s looking for someone to go after a product that he wants to bring to a client that’s worth a lot and that’s very valuable, and guess who he finds?”

In addition to these photos, Disney+ unveiled a poster for the series, which looks to have been modified from the second photo of Pascal suited up in the armor.

The cast of ‘The Mandalorian’ also includes Omid Abtahi, Giancarlo Esposito, Werner Herzog, Nick Nolte, Emily Swallow, and the voice of Taika Waititi as IG-88.

‘The Mandalorian’ will be available when Disney+ launches on November 12, 2019.  Disney+ will be $6.99 a month or $69.99 for a year.
