Bob Frazer Elseworlds

This winter’s CW crossover between ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’ may be entitled ‘Elseworlds’, but more and more, it is looking like it should be called ‘Infinite Worlds’… or rather ‘Infinite Earths’.  Or even ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’.  No, it doesn’t star 12 million superheroes and villains, but it does involve parallel realities and will feature The Monitor, portrayed by LaMonica Garrett and now another important character from that groundbreaking maxi-series has been added– Psycho-Pirate.

Bob Frazer has been cast as this emotion-controlling villain, who was used in ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ by the Anti-Monitor, to turn the superheroes of Earths-4, X and S against the heroes of the other Earths.  He also manipulates a captive Barry Allen, who later died foiling one of the Anti-Monitor’s schemes.  But most importantly, at the end of the story, after reality is reset and the multiverse was merged into one continuity, Psycho-Pirate was the only being who retained knowledge of DC Comics’ past history and the multiverse, something that would later be explored in the pages of ‘Animal Man’ and even later, ‘Infinite Crisis’.

What role he will play in the ‘Elseworlds’ crossover remains to be seen.

As for the actor portraying him on TV, Frazer has been featured on the ‘Power Rangers’-like Disney XD series ‘Mech-X4’ and the ‘Power Rangers’-like Netflix series ‘ReBoot: The Guardian Code’.  He has also previously appeared in The CW’s Arrowverse, in an episode of ‘Supergirl’ as “Angry Father.”  Anger is an emotion.  Was that character actually Roger Hayden, the man who would go on to be Psycho-Pirate?  #easteregg

Frazer has also been seen on ‘The X-Files’, ‘Cold Squad’, ‘Flash Gordon’, ‘Supernatural’, ‘Continuum’, ‘Falling Skies’, ‘The 100’, and ‘The Man in the High Castle’.

The ‘Elseworlds’ crossover starts on ‘The Flash’ on Sunday, December 9 at 8pm EST, and will continue on ‘Arrow’ on Monday, Dec. 10 and conclude on ‘Supergirl’ on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
