Fans of Mike Mignola‘s ‘Hellboy‘ have been itching to see more of the new take which stars David Harbour (‘Stranger Things’) as the main character and this new poster doesn’t disappoint. However, that doesn’t mean Neil Marshall doesn’t have huge shoes to fill as the original two films by Guillermo del Toro have a huge fan base that is going to have mixed feelings on this new film no matter how well it is crafted. I, for one, am eagerly awaiting what could be the start of a new series and possibly even cinematic franchise that would involve Hellboy and other aspects of the B.P.R.D.
While we’re still limited on information for the movie, the big marketing push is said to begin with this year’s New York Comic-Con panel. This Saturday is when we’re supposed to start getting details about the film.
It wouldn’t surprise me if that means this Saturday will also be the official premiere date of the first trailer.
You can check out the full poster right here!
It looks pretty awesome if you ask me. This Saturday’s panel is slated to include: Ian McShane who is playing Hellboy’s adoptive human father Professor Bruttenholm, Daniel Dae Kim who we’ll see play the undead Marine captain Ben Daimio, Sasha Lane who is a critical character in the movie as she is Alice Monaghan, a human woman Hellboy once saved from fairies, and franchise creator Mignola. Harbour is likely busy filming ‘Stranger Things’ unless they’re planning to surprise the audience with the actor walking out in full makeup during the panel.
Are you looking forward to this new take on ‘Hellboy’? Do you feel that it can surpass the vision which Guillermo del Toro initially gave us? What do you think of the look from this new poster? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
