Power Rangers
Hasbro

Following the bombing of the 2017 Lionsgate ‘Power Rangers’, Saban sold the entire franchise to Hasbro, which is steadily extending its reach into the world of movies in association with Paramount Pictures.  Considering that ‘Power Rangers’ has a history in the movies, it should come as no surprise that this is one of the franchises that Hasbro is prioritizing when it comes to the big screen.

Hasbro Global Brand Development and Marketing Manager Beth Bamrick offered a bit of an update, telling ComicBook.com:

“So I can’t comment as much as everyone would love me too on the movie per se, but what I will say is we’re really looking at every opportunity. We are planning two and three years out, so we do have a lot in the pipeline, but we have a lot to get to first like we talked about. We kind of just took it on, so we will definitely have more to come. It’s top of mind with us as well as we kind of think about where we want to bring the brand next but again, I think it’s…we do have some plans that are out there which we’ll be excited to share with you when we can, but yeah we’re definitely looking at it like a 2 to 3 year approach in everything that we’re doing.”

So, unfortunately, that’s not a lot of info to go on, but it does give an idea of when fans can expect to hear something.  As Bamrick stated, Hasbro just recently acquired the rights to ‘Power Rangers’ and are working to establish their take.  The present series ‘Power Rangers Beast Morphers’ is their first original incarnation, although Hasbro is also making toys based on previous versions.
