Arrow

In 2008, during a lull in DC Comics movies, David S. Goyer and Justin Marks penned a script called ‘Green Arrow: Escape From Supermax’, which would have featured the archer attempting to escape from a maximum security prison for super villains.  The film never got made, but the script has gained notoriety on the internet, where it is considered one of the great unmade comic book movies.  Fans haven’t gotten over it, and “Supermax” has appeared in the ‘Green Arrow’ comic and on ‘Arrow’.

Now, even though ‘Escape From Supermax’ never got made, we may get something similar on ‘Arrow’ Season Seven.  Prior to itspremierer, The CW has released several new images.  These pics only hint that (surprise) Oliver is having a hard time fitting in with… y’know, all the people he put there.

There is also a glimpse of Diggle and a few images of Felicity who has never looked worse.  I guess she’s taking Ollie’s incarceration rough.  She has tragic pink hair and some visible lacerations.

Check out the new photos below:

One thing you may have noticed is that at long last, Stephen Amell has a beard.  Though he usually sports some scruff, Amell has never rocked a full goatee, a feature that the comic book hero is known for.  This isn’t quite the same.  The comic book hero has a stylized “Van Dyke” that comes to a point (sometimes drawn as two points) with a curlicue mustache.  Obviously, Amell’s is just… facial hair.

But when he finally gets out, perhaps we’ll even see him sporting a hipster goatee that the comic book Ollie would be proud of.

“There has been no shortage of close calls for Oliver Queen when it comes to protecting his superhero identity, but in the season six finale, he was finally backed into a corner and forced to reveal himself to the world as the Green Arrow. Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.”

‘Arrow’ returns for its seventh season on Monday, October 15, at 8pm EST.
