Len Wiseman

We’ve been hearing rumors that Len Wiseman was being looked into to direct the pilot of DC Universe’s ‘Swamp Thing‘ and now can share that it is officially happening. Not only that, but he has boarded the show as an Executive Producer as part of a newly developed overall deal with Warner Bros. TV. The series is based on characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson and said to be adapting the story of Alan Moore’s “The Anatomy Lesson” which would be a perfect introduction to the characters.

This new deal will have Wiseman develop, produce, and direct a variety of projects for Warner Bros. TV. Previously, the creator was only working with the studio as an executive producer on ‘Lucifer,’ and this will largely expand his work for the company. This news comes as an overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV is coming to an end that saw on working on shows such as ‘The Gifted’ and ‘Sleepy Hollow.’

Ever since it was announced that James Wan would only be producing the series and not directing, we’ve wondered who might be bringing it to life and are happy to know at least who is kicking things off. With the show not in the same world as ‘Titans’, at least initially, there isn’t connective tissue that the showrunners can draw on unlike what we’ll be seeing with ‘Doom Patrol.’

Are you excited to see that ‘Swamp Thing’ is moving forward with Len Wiseman in the director’s chair? Share your thoughts below!

The drama follows what happens when CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns
to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly
swamp-borne virus. There, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec
Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces
descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for
their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets,
both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be
dead after all.
