Alyssa Brooke Levine

One of the parts of the 1989 release of Stephen King’s ‘Pet Sematary‘ which seemed hard to re-cast would be that of Zelda, and now we’ve learned who will be taking on the role. The original movie had Andrew Hubatsek in the part of Rachel Creed’s sister though in the new remake we’ll see Alyssa Brooke Levine playing the part. This will be the young actress’s break out role and while the original movie didn’t show the sister that often, her part was quite memorable.

The young girl suffered spinal meningitis and was incredibly creepy, to put it mildly. Levine will be joining a cast that includes twins Hugo Lavoie and Lucas Lavoie who are playing Gage Creed, Jeté Laurence as Ellie Creed, Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz as Louis and Rachel Creed. With the actor, I’m most excited to see attached to the film being John Lithgow as Jud Crandall.

Here’s how the studio is describing the film:

Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.

It isn’t clear if Levine’s part will be more prominent or if Zelda will have the same small yet significant role from the first film.

Are you excited to see that Zelda has been cast and will be included in the remake of ‘Pet Sematary’? Is there a known actress that you would have liked to see play this part or are you thrilled to see it tackled by a newcomer? Share your thoughts below!

‘Pet Sematary’ will be coming back to life on the big screen on April 5th, 2019!
