William Shatner

Zat you, Santa Claus?  No, it’s William Shatner and he wants to shimmy down your chimney this winter, with the release of his new Yuletide collection ‘Shatner Claus: The Christmas Album’.  This marks his tenth album (!).  Shatner’s music career is bonkers.  If you’ve never heard his music, he really doesn’t sing so much as he just talks very melodramatically over music.

Bet you can’t wait to hear more.  Luckily (I guess), he isn’t flying completely solo on ‘Shatner Claus’.  He has enlisted an all-star roster of collaborators including country star Brad Paisley, folk singer Judy Collins, punk icons Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins, classic rocker Todd Rundgren and blues legend Joe Louis Walker, just to name a few.

Shatner took to Twitter to announce that ‘Shatner Claus’ is now available to pre-order and is available on CD and vinyl.

Did I mention that Shatner is Jewish?

Shatner recently used Twitter to congratulate his fellow Enterprise Captain Patrick Stewart who was just announced to be headlining a revival series on CBS All Access.  Shatner himself doesn’t have a return to television planned but stated that he was open to popping up in a new movie.  Considering that Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth recently walked away from the film franchise, the Enterprise could use a new… or  rather old Captain.
