‘Avengers: Infinity War’ was a long movie and while Thanos may have made sure the galaxy was balanced it was up to The Russo Brothers to make sure that the film was. To do that, they had to leave a lot on the cutting room floor, but there is one scene in particular which they wanted to include. We know that shots with Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan and extended scenes with Thanos were taken out of the film, but some of the heroes fans loved were left out in the cold as well.
For those who wanted more of the antics of the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,‘ this could have been the scene for you!
According to Anthony Russo:
“There’s a Guardians scene that’s on the DVD that was very hard to cut because it’s so entertaining – but we just didn’t need it for the thrust of the film at that moment.”
The scene in question takes place directly after Thanos has taken Gamora prisoner from Knowhere and showed Star-Lord, Drax, and Mantis. It would have been screened directly after Nebula escaped and has the Guardians still on Knowhere while trying to figure out their next move. Star-Lord is listening to Ace Frehley’s “New York Groove” while Drax insists he needs to stop doing nothing. Mantis sees a blinking light which is revealed to be Nebula calling for help and was put in place to explain further why the Guardians head to Titan.
Do you feel this scene would have fit in the movie or was Titan being the home planet of Thanos enough reason for the Guardians of the Galaxy to head there? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
