There hasn’t been too much on the news front as of late for ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald‘ but in this new still from the film, not only do we get a young Newt and a very young Dumbledore but also a few tidbits for the film! This shot has Joshua Shea as Newt Scamander looking very worried about what is happening at the other end of his wand while Jude Law’s take on professor Albus Dumbledore looks on. While he doesn’t look quite as nervous as Newt, Dumbledore doesn’t have the most comfortable of looks on his face.

Newt was a student from 1908 before being “kicked out of Hogwarts for endangering human life” according to Colin Farrell as Percival Graves in the first film. From this flashback image of the duo at Hogwarts, Scamander looks to be still learning his trade. You can’t help but wonder if that is what is about to play out in this scene.
Eddie Redmayne who plays the elder Newt from the first movie also shared a tidbit about Zoe Kravitz as Leta:
“Leta, it’s one of those relationships where there was definitely great love there. But was it ever a full-blown relationship? I don’t know. But certainly, she’s somebody who has touched him hugely. At the beginning of this film you realize she’s now in a relationship with Newt’s brother so, of course, that comes with great complications.”
We’ll find out more about their relationship when the second of this 5-movie series is released on November 16th, 2018!
