The first trailer for ‘Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween’ has been released! If you were hoping to get a sneak peek of Jack Black as R.L. Stine, you’re out of luck! The trailer for the sequel to the 2015 film features a new group of kids led by ‘It’ star Jeremy Ray Taylor, as well as a new group of monsters led by everyone’s favorite creepy dummy, Slappy.
‘Goosebumps 2’ is directed by Ari Sandel, and the story seems to deviate slightly from the plot of the first film. The sequel explores the story of two kids who stumble upon Stine’s old house and find a locked book that unleashes Slappy. The dummy wreaks havoc, bringing more creatures to life on Halloween, using the Halloween store’s costume section as inspiration.
Taylor, who will also appear in ‘IT Chapter 2,’ will be joined by Caleel Harris (‘Castle Rock’), Wendi McLendon-Covey (‘The Goldbergs’), Madison Iseman (‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’), Chris Parnell (‘Archer’), and Ken Jeong (‘Dr. Ken’).
Here is an official synopsis for the upcoming sequel:
Slappy is back to wreak more havoc this Halloween in a brand-new comedy adventure
based on R.L. Stine’s 400-million-selling series of books.
It appears they’re keeping the major plot points and whether Black will return for the film under…wraps! Get it? ‘Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween’ opens in theaters on October 12. Check out the trailer below!
