Spider-Man

Production on ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ is underway!  The sequel to last year’s ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie after the highly-anticipated ‘Avengers 4’ and… SPOILER ALERT, Marvel’s most famous superhero wasn’t callously killed off in ‘Infinity War’.

A Twitter user named Sophie Playle managed to snap a few photos from the set, in Bishop’s Stortford, England, including one of Spidey himself, Tom Holland, having a coffee and talking with some other young men.  Check the pics out for yourself:

It doesn’t appear that filming is actually taking place yet.  It’s unclear who the other people in the photo are, but they could be extras or bit players.

It is believed that ‘Far From Home’ will take Peter Parker abroad, specifically to Europe, which is indeed “far” from his “home” in Brooklyn.  It appears that the filming for this day is inside of one of these buildings, which obviously means that this location is important, otherwise they could have shot this on a closed sound stage away from prying cell phone cameras.

‘Homecoming’ director Jon Watts is returning for ‘Far From Home’, as well as cast members Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Michael Keaton (Adrian Toomes/The Vulture), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May Parker) and Zendaya (Michelle “MJ” Jones).  Jake Gyllenhaal joins as new villain Mysterio, also known as Quentin Beck.  The new film was reportedly looking to cast a European femme fatale, which fits in with the European setting.  As for who that character could be, that’s unclear, with some thinking it could be Silver Sable, who is expected to co-star in her own film, ‘Silver & Black’ with the Black Cat.

‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ opens in about a year, on July 5, 2019.
