One Of The 'Legends Of Tomorrow' Won't Be Back For Season Four

Well… that was quick.  No pun intended.  ‘The Flash’ series regular Keiynan Lonsdale who plays Wally West/Kid Flash moved over to ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ last season after the loss of Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson Jackson (Franz Drameh).  Wally helped fill Lonsdale’s role as the enthusiastic younger brother on the team.  He was billed as a series regular for the remaining episodes, before returning to ‘The Flash’ for the Season Five finale where he met babysitter Jenna.  Now Lonsdale is expected to appear in ‘The Flash’ Season Five premiere to continue that storyline.

‘Legends’ has had a revolving door when it comes to cast members, with Arthur Darvill (Rip Hunter), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold/Citizen Cold), Ciara Renée (Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl) and Falk Hentschel (Carter Hall/Hawkman) having come, served for a time, then gone.  That doesn’t even include the season-long villains that have plagued the heroes.

Season Four of ‘Legends’ will welcome two new series regulars, Matt Ryan as fan favorite John Constantine and Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe, the new leader of the Time Bureau and Sara Lance’s love interest.

As for Lonsdale, the door is always open for him to return in either ‘The Flash’ or ‘Legends of Tomorrow’.  Unfortunately, it seemed as though he was moved over to ‘Legends’ because the writers of ‘The Flash’ couldn’t figure out what to do with his character.  On a personal level, his movie acting career is taking off.  He appeared in the ‘Divergent’ film series as Uriah and played a key role in March’s teen rom-com ‘Love, Simon’ directed by Greg Berlanti, the executive producer of The CW’s DC superhero shows.

So it appears the Waverider crew will consist of Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz), Zari Tomaz (Tala Ashe), Amaya Jiwe/Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Mick Rory/Heatwave (Dominic Purcell), Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh), Nate Heywood/Steel (Nick Zano) plus Constantine and maybe Ava Sharpe.  As always, Amy Louise Pemberton will be heard as the voice of Gideon.

Are you sad to see Kid Flash leave so suddenly?  Was he a good fit for the team, or should he stay in Central City?

‘Legends of Tomorrow’ permanently moves to Monday nights at 8pm EST.
