When Guillermo Del Toro’s “giant mech-suits versus gargantuan monsters” film ‘Pacific Rim’ hit theaters back in 2014, it was sure to be a Kaiju sized hit! In just a few short weeks the sequel, ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’, is hitting theaters and bringing all the Jaeger versus Kaiju action back to the big screen with a spectacle set several years after the events of the first film! Thankfully for fans of the franchise, the team at Diamond Select Toys has gotten their hands on the license to make a number of awesome new ‘Pacific Rim’ products including a full line of figures for ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ which they were showing off at New York Toy Fair 2018!

Fans were treated to a first look at waves one through three of the upcoming line, which is set to see the first wave release right around the same time as the film hit’s theaters! The first wave is comprised of Gypsy Avengers, Saber Athena, and Bracer Phoenix! Then things start to get complicated…

We unfortunately don’t know the names of the majority of the new Jaegers yet! Or the Kaiju for that matter! So while we know that wave two is made up of Titan Redeemer, Guardian Bravo, and Obsidian Fury, we only know that wave three of this line is comprised of a bunch of nameless mech-suit Jaegers that, as far as we can tell, look incredibly badass!

There is also a massive new Kaiju named Hakuja that is getting a gigantic figure! Hakuja will be in scale with the rest of the 7″ line, but due to his massive size compared to the Jaegers, he’s going to be one of the biggest figures we’ve ever seen in a ‘Select’ line weighing in at 12″ from head to tail in length!

As if the ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ 7″ line wasn’t enough, Diamond Select was also showing off a brand new line of smaller ‘chibi’ style ‘Pacific Rim’ figures! The line hasn’t even been given an official name yet, but DST’s Zach Oat has informed us that these are going to be blindboxed and likely feature little to no articulation. DST also hasn’t yet determined how many figures will be in the first assortment, as this is a new product line that they’re kind of checking out for now. Personally? As a fan of blindboxed minifigures, I think these new ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ chibi figures look like a wonderful addition to the genre!

We will bring your more on Diamond Select Toys ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ as the news becomes available! What other figures would you want to see added to this line? We’re personally hoping for some figures of classic ‘Pacific Rim’ Jaeger and Kaiju getting redone by the DST team! Stay tuned to ScienceFiction.com for all the latest news from New York Toy Fair 2018!
