black panther

A new clip that first aired on ‘The Ellen Show’ shows off some of the powers of the Black Panther costume worn by T’Challa in the upcoming movie, and goes into some of the science behind the suit. In the clip (which you can check out below), T’Challa is in pursuit of some enemies in a heavily armored car, so while his sister Suri remotes into his Lexus to drive after them from her lab (using some awesome hologram technology – and I should point out, apparently it has been revealed that Suri is the smartest person in the MCU, even above Tony Stark), T’Challa activates the Black Panther suit and rides atop the car in hot pursuit. As the car in front shoots at T’Challa, his suit absorbs the kinetic energy of the bullets coming at him. Suri reminds him of the power the suit is being charged with due to that kinetic energy, which T’Challa then uses to jump over to the lead car and release that energy causing the car to flip and crash. While he lands safely back on his own car, Suri remarks that he’s a “show off.”

So the clip lets us know that while wearing the suit T’Challa is basically bullet-proof and fall-proof due to the kinetic energy absorbing nature of the Vibranium mesh woven into the suit’s armor, making him much more powerful than previously thought. It also gives us a glimpse into the kind of support team he has and what they can do. Suri seems very capable, and her lab looks awesome! I hope she is there with T’Challa through a lot of his adventures as I like her energy and enthusiasm and I want to see what other tricks she has up her sleeve to help her brother.
