Keiynan Lonsdale Kid Flash 'Legends of Tomorrow

It’s no secret that ‘The Flash’ has had some issues finding the right fit for Keiynan Lonsdale‘s Wally West/Kid Flash in Season Four, but as it turns out, it may simply be time for Wally to step out from his mentor’s shadow and fly on his own.  Well, not all by himself.  It appears that, in the wake of the death of Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and the subsequent departure of Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh), a familiar face will be joining the crew of the Waverider on ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ and that’s Wally.

The CW’s president Mark Pedowitz declared:

“You have to see Wally West show up in Legends.  You’ll have to watch it!”

Many of the stars of The CW’s DC shows were present in Washington DC last weekend for the ‘DC in DC’ event in honor of Martin Luther King Day and the launch of ‘Black Lightning’.  Brandon Routh, who stars as Ray Palmer/The Atom let spill that Lonsdale would be coming aboard “for a little bit” and added “I think that goes with the talent that Keiynan brings to his role and to this newly forming — is it forming? — energy of him coming in to be a part of our show.”

Meanwhile, his on-screen sister Candice Patton who plays Iris West said, “I think he would be in great hands. He’s got a great female leader over there. He has attributes that would really help the team over there. He would do great on Legends.”  Caity Lotz, who plays team commander Sara Lance/White Canary, added “We could use a speedster… Jax has some pretty big shoes to fill and for me just selfishly, Jax was my little brother so I need a new little brother.”

You can watch the impromptu interview below, which also features a bit of Danielle Panabaker speculating about the future for her character Killer Frost/Caitlin Snow.

Earlier this season, viewers saw Wally team up with Citizen Steel (Nick Zano) with positive results:

In addition to Wally, there has also been buzz that Matt Ryan’s John Constantine could also return for a run with the Forgotten Heroes.
