Justice-League (2)

The Justice League is returning to animation on The Cartoon Network in the new series ‘Justice League Action’!  CN has released a new poster depicting DC’s Trinity, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, no coincidence, the three stars of the upcoming movie ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’.

Each 30-minute episode of ‘Justice League Action’ will feature two 11-minute episodes, similar to the current hit ‘Teen Titans GO!’ and judging by the art style, it appears that this show will also be aimed at a younger audience than previous DC animated shows.

Here is the description of the show:

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman lead the DC Comics Super Heroes against their most infamous foes in adventures packed with relentless thrills, fun and action. No need to wait for the good stuff to start, each eleven-minute episode jumps in with lightning-paced action and heroics. Whether defending the Earth, facing invaders from space, or battling the bizarre forces of magic, the always-rotating team of Justice League heroes, are up to any challenge.

The characters depicted in the background give a hint of which other heroes fans can expect to turn up, including The Flash, Shazam, Martian Manhunter, Blue Beetle, Plastic Man, Zatanna, Vixen, Green Arrow and Hawkman.  Also shown are bad guys Darkseid, Vermin Vundabar, Felix Faust, Killer Frost and possibly Harley Quinn.

Longtime DC animation fans should be delighted by the voice cast.  Both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are returning to voice Batman and The Joker, respectively.  Both actors provided the voices for these characters beginning in 1992 on ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ and continuing for over a decade on various shows, wrapping up with the 2006 final season of ‘Justice League Unlimited’.

Also confirmed as part of the cast is another Batman voice actor, Diedrich Bader who will play Booster Gold.  Bader provided Batman’s voice on ‘Batman: The Brave and the Bold’.  And James Woods will voice Lex Luthor.

No release date was announced.
