For those who have been eager to find more about ‘Tremors 6‘ prior to the upcoming series which will star Kevin Bacon again, we’ve just learned not only a release date but that it will be titled ‘Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell’! This movie itself hit a PG-13 rating for “creature violence, gore, crude humor, and language” and you’ll be able to view it in May of 2018! No word quite yet if this will be straight to video and streaming or if a limited theatrical release will be an option.
The movie will revisit everyone’s favorite Graboid shooting gun nut Michael Gross‘s Burt Gummer as he and his son end up going against the creatures that they just can’t seem to get rid of.
Here is the synopsis of the film:
Burt Gummer (Michael Gross) and his son Travis Welker (Jamie Kennedy) find themselves up to their ears in Graboids and Ass-Blasters when they head to Canada to investigate a series of deadly giant-worm attacks. Arriving at a remote research facility in the arctic tundra, Burt begins to suspect that Graboids are secretly being weaponized, but before he can prove his theory, he is sidelined by Graboid venom. With just 48 hours to live, the only hope is to create an antidote from fresh venom — but to do that, someone will have to figure out how to milk a Graboid
I don’t know about you, but for this being a horror movie the most horrifying thought about it is that we’ll have to see this pair “milk a Graboid” as I’m sure it won’t just be gruesome on screen but it’ll be over the top slapstick gore or comedy happening while the scene goes down.
Gross is the only original actor to have appeared in all of the movies so far and it isn’t clear if this will be the last with Syfy launching the new Kevin Bacon series. However, Bacon isn’t set to appear in any future films and Gross isn’t set to be in the movie so they could run concurrently for the foreseeable future.
Are you looking forward to ‘Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell’? Is the return of Jamie Kennedy a plus or detractor for you in seeing the next installment in this franchise? How long until they decide to give us a ‘Tremors in Space’ movie? Share your thoughts below!
