We all know that Ernie Hudson wasn’t interest in the ‘Ghostbusters‘ reboot, until he was, and now he is saying the same thing about ‘The Crow Reborn‘. The loss of Brandon Lee was a tragedy to us all but those who had worked with him felt that impact directly and that is the primary reason Hudson wouldn’t want to return. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that any such cameo would really require him to be in boxers again, for continuity’s sake.
Here is what Hudson had to say about not being interested in returning to the film:
“Well, that’s a little harder because as much as I love The Crow, it breaks my heart what happened to Brandon and so I, yeah that would be hard to do. I mean, I saw Brandon as The Crow, and I can’t imagine, I mean I know it’s a franchise. I know the studio will want to make money, but as far as I’m concerned, Brandon was The Crow and yeah, that’s a whole different thing. I love the movie, but it’s not a Ghostbusters. Brandon, that would be hard to do. I haven’t been asked to do it.”
Many fans of the original film have shared the same thoughts about the reboot. Even though it is said to more strictly stick to the source material which would give us a completely different movie. However, just like he changed his mind for doing a ‘Ghostbusters’ cameo he isn’t completely shutting down the idea. One might even guess that the same motivation is what helped him appear with the all-female leading cast which is what he was opposed to.
What could that be?
“Now, I’m an actor. I have a price. But if you see me in that movie, you’ll know it was because of the money. They’ve done two or three others, but I think Brandon was The Crow, and fans love him. I’m very honored to have been in his last movie, but I don’t think I’d want to do it.”
The all mighty dollar ladies and gentlemen! At least while he says that he has a price that he wouldn’t be thrilled to come back.
