the gifted

‘The Gifted’ is working its way to TV very soon, bringing a new spin on 20th Century Fox’s cinematic X-Men universe. The series is connected to the X-Men cinematic universe, but as showrunners have previously outlined, it will take place at a time where “nobody knows where the X-Men are.”

While the show features several mutants, it just wouldn’t be a very gripping drama without some “bad guys” for them to go up against, right?  Enter the Sentinel Services, the antagonistic government operation whose name will sound very familiar to fans of the X-series of movies and/or comic books.

Says actor Coby Bell, who portrays Sentinel Services member Jace Hunter in the upcoming series:

“The Sentinel Services are basically a high level government agency that deals with mutant issues, mutant powers. They go around kind of operating above the law.”

Take a look at this promo video that talks more about the Sentinel Services and what they aim to do:

Action-adventure family drama THE GIFTED, from Marvel, tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. Written by Matt Nix (APB, “Burn Notice”), directed by Bryan Singer (the “X-Men” franchise”) and executive-produced by Nix, Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner (“X-Men: Apocalypse,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “The Wolverine”), Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Apocalypse,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past”), Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones”) and Jim Chory (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones”), the series stars Stephen Moyer (SHOTS FIRED, “True Blood”) and Amy Acker (“Person of Interest”).

Fans don’t have much longer to wait to get the first taste of the series, as it will be premiering on Fox this Fall.

‘The Gifted’ will debut on October 2, 2017, on Fox.
